Development and implementation of the forest policy

Since 2014, Transitions has supported L’Oréal in developing and rolling out its ‘Forests 2030’ policy, which aims to ensure that supply chains are 100 per cent traceable, sustainably sourced and do not contribute to deforestation.

Specific action plans have been implemented for various commodities such as palm, soy, timber and coconut, including the establishment of traceability systems, supplier assessment procedures, risk management frameworks and certification schemes, alongside capacity building for operational teams to integrate these processes into their procurement activities.

This has resulted in long-term supplier engagement and the implementation of field projects linked to supply chains, contributing to improved agricultural practices, support for smallholder farmers and the preservation of key ecosystems.
